Tech Hun Sen Monitors Ceasefire, Thanks Cambodian Forces and International Observers

Phnom Penh, July 30, 2025 – Former Prime Minister and presently Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen shared an update on the ongoing monitoring of the ceasefire agreement on his social media platform today. He expressed gratitude to the Cambodian armed forces, the military attachés from invited countries, and international media for their roles in upholding and observing the peace process.

Techo Hun Sen commended the Cambodian armed forces for their strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement. "I would like to commend all the armed forces of Cambodia for respecting and implementing the ceasefire agreement well," he stated.

The Senate President also extended his appreciation to the military attachés from multiple countries who were invited to inspect the Cambodian-Thai border within Cambodia firsthand. Additionally, he thanked Singaporean television CNA reporters for their direct reporting from the border provinces, highlighting the importance of accurate and unbiased coverage.

"The real desire of the Cambodian people is peace, and I believe that the Thai people also want peace," Techo Hun Sen affirmed. He emphasized the shared hope for stability and understanding between the two nations.

Concluding his message, Techo Hun Sen committed to remaining engaged until the situation normalizes, expressing a personal dedication to the well-being of Cambodia during this challenging time. "I will sit here until the situation returns to normal. I hope that I will not be sick and have no right to be sick while the Cambodian nation and people are facing difficulties."

Techo Hun Sen's remarks underscore the commitment of the Cambodian leadership to maintain peace and stability following the recent ceasefire and to work with international partners to ensure a lasting resolution.
